Hi there,
I recently tried to flash the vbios of the 7970m card in my MX17R4 laptop, using ATI winflash. Unlucky for me, this resulted in an error (I used a custom made bios generated from vbiospatcher). When I rebooted my machine my 7970m was not recognized and worse of all, trying to force flash with ATIflash 3.95 did not succeed (video card not found). So here I am now with a bricked card (corrupted vbios). Is there a way to reset the vbios so that the card can be recognized and a force flash can be performed? I learned that there is a hardware PIN 1 + 8 method to revive some graphic cards but I cannot find any info on the layout of the brand new 7970m.
Thanks,
VSee

There's no easy method for your kind of brick, but I can help you. PM me if interested.

May I ask why you would want to flash a GPU that's only barely supported by the drivers and with the community being as shady as they are about the knowledge they possess?

Need same help!
(svl7's mail is full and can't PM)

You could try with an Alienware 18.
