From what i see that's not the buy it now price, but the starting price of the auction, still 4+ days left, alot can change.

 

Keep an eye on it, but don't bid yet. I'm sure it'll start moving up once it's closer out to >1day. But if you bid, it just provokes increase price from bid war.

 

I personally think it's a waste of money if you're going to buy an Alienware but have the videocard a 6870M. It's a very weak videocard compared to the current ones offered. Why are you looking at this specifically?

I think if you're on a limit, Sager would be a better option than Alienware. They will offer better specs for a lower price. Otherwise it looks like a nice bargain

 

personally I think not! I tried to believe that but failed! not only sager but any clevo platform! I need a company that sells the parts to fix it myself after the warranty! I've just talked to malibal and they refused to sell me anything! same goes to xoticpc and gentech and other resellers! god knows why theese companies won't sell anything after the warranty ends!

 

The price isn't bad @ $1270 shipped if no one else bids on it, but it isn't outstanding either. Dell outlet frequently offers coupons (sign up on twitter and check daily on your cell phone), and this configuration is very common on the outlet. Figure $1250 then add a 20% off coupon + plus tax and you'd be doing better than this ebay unit. Even a $100 off coupon would be a good deal. Then you would have the protection of a 21 day return and your own 1 year warranty. Currently the outlet has no M17x R3s, but that is because the 20% off has been going on for almost a week and they are all gone now. More will be up soon, but then the coupon will be gone. New coupons come every few weeks.

Quite frankly, I have my own reservations when it comes to buying electronics from eBay. My instincts say to avoid because it's either 'hot', defective, or something is shady about the seller. Usually someone who owns something will post photos to represent what they are selling. This seller did not do that, therefore I see one red-flag already.

If the seller has a heatware ID, ask for that first before making a purchase inquiry. Heatware ID's have a lot more credibility vs false feedback reports from other eBay buyers. If you plan to purchase it, make DANG sure that the warranty is transferable and that the notebook does not have the B2 revision chipset.

I agree. Finally snagged an R2 I wanted last night (RGB LED, Blu Ray, quad core proc, 8gb mem, 285gtx but I plan on swapping for 6970m) after day after day of waiting for one to come up.

It is supposed to arrive by Monday but according to the status it is still "In Production". I was sure it would ship today as Dell is usually pretty quick, but I've heard some horror stories and I just don't want to fall under never receiving my computer.

 

Yeah, you were too late, sorry. There were several 1920 x 1080 in there earlier. Were also a few 6970's in there as well.
