    Full specs please.

And if you have the 1600x900 resolution moniter, it has a few display problems.

Tip, make your signature show your full computer specs, so when you ask for help, we can point out the main issues that are known.

FYI, i once had a one with 900p screen, which has the same problem. I just returned and reordered a 1080p one.

the 900p screen of m17x r3 is the worst screen model i have ever used by far...

Dell inspiron led screen is much worse than the AW 900p screen. Those lines seem like a natural thing on there.

Previously a tech came & mistakenly replaced my faulty FHD screen with a 1600x900 one,the lines & bleeding light at the edges almost made me cry myself to sleep every night.Seriously,do yourself a favour & upgrade to a FHD screen(1920x1080),you won't regret it. :)

What!? You mean the tech's gonna give me another screen with those lines on it?

The tech just called and he is on his way....maybe I should stop him from coming :(

Edit: Tech changed the screen, and absolutely no difference from the prior one.

I have a 1600*900 screen. No vertical lines whatsoever. Ask Dell to send you replacement WHILE you hang on to your laptop. If this is brand new, you just simply SHOULDN'T have to deal with this. Consider also... since time is ticking... to get a refund, and reorder. Like I said, my 900p screen works perfectly and if the tech replaced it by another "faulty" one, maybe it just isn't the screen. Get that fixed right away.

The Tech couldn't see those lines at 1st....

I was finally able to pull up an image with grey backgrounds and voila. The tech was like, "this appears to be normal." He told me to ask AW for a 1080p upgrade.

But, the picture quality is still awesome on this 900p screen.

I don't know about the techs in your country, but in mine, they do not know anything about alienware,2 different techs that came to my home for the replacement say they have never seen an alienware before,& the replacement parts were prepared for them by another team. After the first screw-up,i immediately did a research on the correct screen part number & ensure they bring the right one when they call me to arrange a servicing date. This link will show you the exact M17xR3 part number of the various components,if you need to clarify with the tech. Archive this for future use, M17x-R3 Parts - Alienware Forum - Alienware Club - Dell Community
For your info, there are at least 8 different part numbers for the 17.3" screen, all for different configurations.
