speakers on m17x r2 not listed

i have recently been using a monitor keyboard mouse setup for my m17x when im at home. i connect the tv via hdmi and also set up the speakers to play from the tv also. well when i went back to enable my speakers on my m17x again...they were not there and i currently have no sound. i reconnected the tv to see if that would make them pop back up but it doesn't. i can still get sound through my tv though. any ideas?

 

could it be that the audio card is disabled in device manager ?

 

Try to plug in a sound cable for your headset in the m17x machine and then remove it again. That might trigger the small spring on the motherboard which might jam in there some times and then the m17x believes that you have headset plugged in and therefore you hear no sound in your speakers. I hope that help you(any many people are having this issue and this often helps out ).

 

so i reinstalled windows and now i can't get it to recognize anything via hdmi. anybody know what could be wrong now? running dled from ati site

 

After I did a clean install, i installed the drivers directly from Dell and ports work fine. Try those ones.
