anyone has this warranty on their m17x? The price is significantly cheaper than the warranty upgrade from dell. Their 3 year warranty which is equivalent with advanced warranty from dell will only cost me 249 dollars.

Anyone has experience with squaretrade warranties? I wanna know before i pull the trigger. :D

I found when you go to check out, the accidental dropping or spilling something on it is another 200 dollars.

Dell replaces your unit, Squaretrade reimburses you the cost of the unit.

I would rather get the $ back and use it to order a newer machine :)

Well, Squaretrade doesn't help you (to my knowledge) if you're traveling overseas and need support if something breaks while there. Also, if you depend on your machine for work, then Squaretrade probably isn't the best idea (no on-site service). I personally depend on my machine pretty much 24/7 except when sleeping and eating, of course :D -- seriously though, I depend on mine for work, so I can't afford to be without it or be reimbursed to buy a new machine when I can't AFFORD the time it takes to buy a new machine and then set it up. Something to keep in mind for sure, before considering Squaretrade.

^ definately. I don't rely on it. Noone really should rely on any ONE single computer. Too much can go wrong.

    I have spares of everytyhing I own, 3 or 4 X360's. 3 PS3's, probably around 3 TV's not in use...I take no chances ;)

Indeed, it would be better to NOT just have a single computer, but when you're not rich, you have to consider the options available to you, such as going with Dell's extended warranty. Besides, I ain't lugging TWO computers with me overseas!! :nah: With TWO R3s I'd be charged for an extra airplane seat!! :twitchy:

Cool. Except that won't "fly" with the airlines ;) One R3 is pretty much enough to MAX out the carry-on weight limit... Would like a netbook though... I think that would serve well as a backup.
