Just this morning while surfing the web my laptop froze. I force the laptop to turn off but when i power on again my r3 said that there is "no bootable device." I tried several times and i kept getting the same error.

I ran the diagnostics and my ssd failed. It said the test was unsuccessful on my ssd. The weird thing however is that my bios can recognize my ssd but cannot boot on windows.

I tried to remove and reinstall my drive to diff slot and still it won't boot. I can boot, however, on my other HD using the slot that my ssd where in before. So now I think that there is no problem with the slots coz it can boot using diff HD.

I called Crucial and they told me to "power cycle" the sdd where I will install the sdd back again then open the bios for 30 mins. After this I have to remove the ssd and install it again after 30 secs. Do this 2-3 times until it boots. This is a very time consuming troubleshooting. I will not be able to this until later tonight :(

Anyone experience this problem with r3 with crucial m4? or any success with power cycle stuff?

I have the latest firmware btw.

Just call Crucial and tell them you did the power cycle and get the same error, don't waste time actually doing it. Just tell them the issue persists and setup the RMA.

Sounds like the SSD kicked the bucket. I had to RMA an intel drive for the same thing. And even if you do get it working, it's likely to have the same fault before long.

Not sure if I had the same issue but my new M4 is acting strangely too, rather the laptop is acting strangely after installing it. It runs ok but every now and then the bios confuses which boot drive it should boot from and I manually have to switch the drives around to resolve this issue. Then it happens again and I switch the drives and everything is normal until it happens again. Very annoying to say the least but I'm not in the mood to reinstall everything since I just put the M4 in.

I'm thinking my motherboard is going the way of the dodo sine it also randomly doesn't want to boot when powered on. You get lights and all but nothing happens. To resolve this I have to completely remove the battery and power cord. Strange problem.
