I'm new to these forums, I've had no issues with my M17X R3 until i installed 11.9 drivers. They installed fine and everything works but my temps go up to high 60s even low 70s on idle. The fan stays at a constant 5 rpm as well which considering the temps is a little odd.

I just got this laptop a month ago, is this normal or do i have a problem?

Download GPU-Z and see if it's clocking down on idle or not. Might just be the driver isn't using powerplay correctly.

you are a tad high for idle...its not the drivers as i'm running 11.9

Its probably the crappy thermal paste job on your GPU. When i repasted mine, it made a HUGE difference. I just ran a 3dmark vantage run and my GPU maxed at 67

Dell should be ashamed of the stock paste job. On my computer, it was practically metal on metal.

Not normal. Follow batboys tips then either go back to Dell drivers or repaste your gpu.
