    Would it be ok to put a strip of thermal pad over the vram on the back of the 580Mto help with cooling?

    my 460m actually came with a thermal bad on the bottom, doesn't do jack to help the temps though from what I have seen :p

    Honestly a thermal pad without metal would probably be fine. I would not add any metal to the area that isn't supposed to be there for fear of shorting something.
