Hi Everyone
I have just ordered a GTX 680M graphic card from DELL, now I'm looking for good quality thermal pads for my new GTX 680M. Does anyone know what brand is a good one? Where can I buy these pads from online store??
Most importantly, how thick is the pad for the GTX 680M card?

I don't know how much Dell wants for it but if you just buy their heatsink kit for the 680m it comes with a full set of thermal pads. They are the same as the 675m/580m.

I use Fujipoly. I got a 1/4 sheet of the Fujipoly Extreme (6"x4" sheet) at 0.5mm thick. Now, I only have a AMD 5870m so I'm not sure what thickness you should use for the 680m, but I can't imagine you would need more that a 1/4 sheet of this stuff. Here is the link to where I bought it. It's very reasonably priced. This site has a good selection of thermal pads, so look around and see what they got.

Thanks for the link, that's exactly the thermal pad that I ordered from frozenCpu last night, it it a bit expensive but good quality pads will last longer than cheap pads even they don't do much in reducing temperature. The only thing that I'm still not sure is the thickness of the pad, is 1mm would be enough to be applied on memory chips?
About the graphic card, I just called Dell US and they quoted me $550. Since I'm living in australia, I told a friend of mine in the US purchase the card and then ship it to Sydney -

Only $550!?! That's a hell of a deal for the 680m (especially from Dell). It gives me renewed hope that I can get the 680m BEFORE my 5870m completely dies on me.

Hey i see you are using the 5870. I just ordered the 5870m crossfire and want to apply some thermal paste to it. I got your link and found a place that sells them a few dollars cheaper. What I need to know is how and where exactly to apply it. can you tell me?

You don't use thermal paste on the RAM chips. Only on the GPU die in the center. Use thermal pads on the RAM chips.
In the photo, the RAM chips are covered in the blue thermal tape. They surround the GPU die. The silver metallic rectangle in the middle of the GPU die in the only place you want to use thermal paste. Just a rice grain sized glob is more than enough. -
Copy that. what about the under part of the RAMS? Cover them or leave them as is?

680m new heatsink padded from Dell:
You'll want 1mm memory and 2mm or double up for the small components at the edge and the larger ones next to them.
The thick putty like substance you see at the top of the pics not available anywhere I looked, but the upgrade kits just use thick pads (somewhere between 2mm and 3mm is my guess).
I used the dell one with no attempt to line them up or mess with it to see how well it works. As you see it is how I screwed it together. I was prepared to pull it apart and make a better job of it but it works great. 63c to 65c gaming at stock with occasional peaks of 68c. So much room to overclock I'm having a lot of fun and I still haven't maxed it out yet. Two more overvolts to try when a game lags on me!

Edit: for the ram chips underneath you can see the x-bracket in my pic had a plate and pad on it. There was a large pad under the card that covered the other chips but I have seen people use the x-bracket without the pad bit and just use a pad there as well. -

£40.00 for me in the UK and I believe the same dollar number in the US. I went with this for a stress free installation. It even has a layer of paste on the core so you don't need that either. I'm sure I could have got better temps by removing their stuff and using a good compound but I wanted to see how good it was. See above
