My trackpad is having a little bit of a "rubber band" type effect...that is, when I use it at anything but very low speeds, after the pointer lands where it is supposed to it will slide a little bit back towards the direction it came, maybe 1/10 to 1/4 an inch.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers as well as messed with the sensitivity and am not seeing a difference. Anyone have any idea?

Does the same thing happen if you leave your finger resting on the touchpad? In other words, does it move backward a tad as soon as you lift your finger off of the touchpad, but stays put until then?

What if you remove all touchpad drivers and use the generic Windows mouse driver? Does it still occur that way?

It actually *only* happens when I leave my finger on the touchpad (which I tend to do when my pointer lands where I wanted it to go). If I do the sweep and pick up my finger immediately at the end of the sweep, it doesn't seem to bounce.

I tried to uninstall the drivers and use the generic Windows mouse driver and it still occured.

It doesn't occur with an external mouse (thank goodness) nor when I pick up my finger at the end of a sweep, so it may just be something I need to adjust to. I'm not sure the payoff is worth all the effort of messing with hardware replacements and the like.
