hello, I just want to share some thoughts, I don't know if anyone knows this cuz I searched the forum but no results showed up.

I find it's hard to do one-finger scrolling since our touch pad sits flat on the surface, it's really hard to feel the edge of the touch pad.
so I think it would be nice if I could use two-finger scrolling just like on a Mac.

I installed the driver from HP but the driver has a problem which it does not disable the touch pad when I connect an external mouse to the computer, this is not good for gaming. So I had to switch back to dell's driver.

but I found a way to enable the two-finger scrolling with dell's official driver.
just run regedit, and navigate to "hkey_local_machine\software\synaptics\2scrolling\2two-finger scrolling". Rename or delete the value "visibility" in the "2two-finger scrolling" directory, then you will be able to setup the two-finger scroll in the control panel.

it seems like the features are actually installed, dell just hides them ...and also it seems like there are alot of things we can play around in the registery... :)

Great, and it works for the m15x as well. Just wondering if there's two-finger tap right-click somewhere in there. I couldn't find it unfortunately.

Maybe yuyue has old driver parts of the HP driver left after a uninstall?

Let me help out by posting a step-by-step. I will try to make this painless for people who don't know this interface well. Don't play with other things in regedit unless you know what you're doing.

Open start menu, enter "regedit", and run it.

    In the LEFT column...

    Expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE".

    Expand "SOFTWARE".

    Expand "Synaptics".

    Expand "SynTPCpl".

    Expand "Controls".

Expand "2Scrolling" (note: this doesn't refer to 2-finger, just that it's the second menu item).

    Select "2Two-Finger Scrolling".

    In the RIGHT column...

    Select "Visibility".

Right-Click "Visibility" and rename it to something like "Visibilityfalse", OR...

    Modify the value to 0.

    Then...

    Close regedit.

In your taskbar tray right-click the "Synaptics Pointing Device", and click "Pointing Device Properties".

Click on the "Device Settings" tab and, with the Synaptics TouchPad selected, click on "Settings...".

    Expand "Scrolling".

You should now find "Two-Finger Scrolling" is visible. Select it, and enable whatever you want. I suggest vertical and leave the rest unchecked.

This should then i assume work for the other disabled features.

    like application control

Or maybe pinch to zoom? athough theres no "visibility" key. I will try and report back

3 finger flick can also be enabled and works

make sure you set "visibility" to 0 in all of the 3 folders

Ok so thats it, unless using any hacked drivers i cant get the other features to work or show up...BUT the 3 finger gestures DO work.

3 finger flick can navigate through webpages or slideshows.

3 finger press can be set to open applications i.e open firefox when 3 fingers are held on the touchpad.
you can even set it to open multiple applications at once.

Yes, there are quite a few extra features that can be unlocked, unfortunately pinch doesn't seem to be one of them.

I used this driver on my MSI GX740. I have some features like ChiralRotate and Momentum in Synaptics properties but I can't even see the "Visibility" key in the regedit tree.
    Can this be hardware related?
