hi, i just installed a clean w7 on a new plextor m3 ssd(went with this over the m4 for the 5 year warranty).
i started with installing all the drivers for my harware from support.dell then installed windows updates.
what i am wondering about is if i should touch my intel RST, currently version 10.0.0.1046 (from dell) , if the newer ones will be less likely to crash my spiffy SSD (got to love 10 second boot up).
also any other tips to ensure my SSD is functioning properly (should i uninstall/disable accelerometer?)
anyway thanks for reading, crap it double posted me

I have been using IRST v10.8.0.1003 (October, 2011) for some time, and it has been fine and stable, but honestly I have never seen any real performance advantage or difference between succeeding versions of IRST or even any advantage over the standard Windows drivers unless perhaps you're running a Raid 0 (or other) array.
This a useful guide if you're new to SSD's. The SSD Optimization Guide - The SSD Review. However, don't apply all indiscriminately; select those appropriate to your situation and uses. For my purposes, I ignore Nos. 6 (but shrink to 2GB), 11, 13, 14, 17 and 18, but your preferences may vary.
update intel RST on clean w7 install?
