    upgrade from ati 6990m to nvidia 780m need help

    Hello, just need some info about what do I need to buy additional to be able to do that is heatsink going to be ok from AMD card. I have alienware m17x r3 with toasted ati radeon 6990m.

    You need a new heatsink and support plate.

    I have the same issue as you. But I haven't been able to find another video card that will work in my machine.

    Where did you find your 780m?

    Not precisely, we don't support the upgrade officially but we have seen success stories from other users installing it. The max upgrade for that machine is the 580m.
