Does anyone else have a problem with the volume controls on the touch controls? All the other buttons work with just one touch. The volume up/down need to be pressed about 4-5 times in order for them to work. Sometimes they work correctly but most of the time they don't.

Is there a fix for this?

I have the same problem, but have chosen to ignore it I guess. If the buttons don't respond, I usually hit the windows key to minimize the game I'm playing. Then I use the windows volume button in the tray to turn it up or down. Don't know if there's a fix, but I've seen others in the forum with the same issue.

There have been many discussions on that problem, but no fixes that work for everyone for all Dell-Alienware portable systems.

The best luck I have is to curse Dell silently for the poor design (in case the kids are around), then place my finger between the location of the volume I desire & the screen, curse Dell silently for the poor design some more, then slowly slide it towards the light of the volume location until it starts working.

Been playing with a friends m17x and he hates the touchpad to hell and back.

And then back to hell again.

yeah, I went upstairs to my kid's XPS 1710 (my old machine) and it has nice tactile feedback buttons, which *include a mute* right on the face.

Then I went to my m6400 which has a nice REAL button at the top right, volume and mute. My speakers are wall mounted, I can't really mute them easily, I have the FN+F3(mute) button memorized now, but I hate it.
