    hello,
    i want to replace my graphic card in my m17x R4
    my current card is GTX 675m

    so i wanted to know if i can upgrade it and if yes what i can buy instead

    GTX 680m is the official option you can go to. It will be plug and play.

    You can also run the latest cards but you may run into issues such as loosing HDMI audio.

    There is a big difference between the 675 and the 680 or i will hardly notice a difference?

    There will be a big noticeable difference. An even bigger difference going to 780m :D

    Hi, It's quite a big jump, the 680 is also the new core technology - Kepler. The 675m is actually a 580m rebadged :(

    A lot depends on what games you play and your perception of 'smoothness'. I am still happy with my 675m but do have to drop a couple of settings down in some games that I would not need to do with a 680m. From what I see from other posters a 20% to 50% FPS gain is the norm and almost all games can be played maxed out.

    Ehhh but remember the 780m will not be plug and play, and you will lose certain features and will have to do driver mods to have it work effectively.
