what is the average wait for a new m17x

I ordered mine almost 2 weeks ago and it still says in production. How long did you have to wait. Please note I am in Canada.

Production or building phase took approximately 5 days for me.
For myself it took no more than 2 weeks before i received the systems. Cheers.

 

2-3 weeks maybe more in some cases

 

I got mine in 9 days from time of order.

 

It just changed to 'Delivery Preparation'. What does that mean?

go figure it waits til I post this thread.

 

I just received my M17xR2 after waiting 18 days. It finally shipped with an upgraded video card (4870 to 5870) after i called and complained. The upgrade was at no charge too

 

Now it's changed to shipped. All since I posted this thread.

So in general you guys received the laptops ealier than EDD?

I ordered mine on Aug 23rd. EDD is 15th Sep

 

Yeh mine was first quoted for Sept 5th and then it went down to August 27th after building was completed, but it arrived a few days earlier. Cheers.

 

I'm pretty sure your EDD date will drop as soon as they finish building it. Will have to wait and see though. Hang in there eheheheh!!! Cheers.

 

i ordered mine a couple of days ago while in America, i arrived home today and had a message from dell.aus saying that the unit would be shipped on Monday and to expect it Tuesday/Wednesday so that's exactly one week for me...i cant wait...

ive been very happy with the service, especially customer support from the pacific region, my C/C company freaked out when i placed the order and canceled it, instead of canceling the order Dell rang me in America and asked me about it, a quick phone call to my bank and everything was running smoothly again....without any delays to the machine.......good on you Dell for great customer support.

 

Mine took only 8 days from "Work in Progress" to being delivered. That made it a week ahead of EDD.

 

Got mine in about 7 days, from order to ship to door.

I am an idiot..just noticed poster was in Canada. Ignore me.

 

Who cares lol. I'm in the US. And after asking my question, EDD jumps from 15 Sep to 31 Aug lol.

Mine took 15 days from ordering it and receiving it

 

I ordered my new machine on the 25th, it went in production yesterday with a estimated delivery date of September 9th. I have next-day delivery for the shipping method.

If I remember right it took about a week for my M15X to ship in July. I'm hoping that it takes about the same for this one too. I would kill to have it in time for labor day weekend!

I have been stuck w/ some stupid laptops for almost a year But now my upcoming semester is gonna have a lot of fun w/ 5.1 loud speakers and 80" projector plugging in my M17x running BC2, Crysis 2, ME2... Can't wait lol.

 

You gonna try to OC that 720 I got pretty good results for mine using setFSB

1.84 ghz base max turbo to 3.12ghz

 

No I'm going to the 940XM. Go big or go home .

 

You can still use SetFSB to get a higher OC than what the BIOS will allow

 

Yeah! As long as the temp is good, there is no reason for not OCing. That's a lot of fun

...alas they just shipped the bag separately! Such a huge box for the bag to be by itself.

 

Some of guys are lucky, It took dell 2 months to deliver my M17xr2.

 

mine took 2 weeks from placing order to delivery. It was a full week ahead of Dell's estimated delivery and it arrived before the system showed its status as shipped.

 

Ordered on 23rd
Shipped on 26th
EDD on 31st

 

Your sig says 940XM, your dell build says 720QM, if the 940 is available here from dell please tell me how you got it, also your sig says dual 5850's, the m17x r2 has 5870's, also you can't have 500GB and 350GB in Raid 0 so again you may want to correct your sig. Anyways if there is a way to get a 940XM directly from dell please tell me how you got it, thanks.

 

Yeah I need to know about x40 too.

I don't know why but my tracking show that my R2 is picked up by FedEx in Chicago, not Shanghai as my R1

It will be delivered by noon today (31st) I believe. Sadly I will only be in my home until Sep 2
