Because a technician with new GPU will come to me in 3 days, and I dont know what paste he will have by himself, I can buy me what i want now to be prepared in case, ill have better paste then him.
    So quick question to all:
what paste do you recommend to use on gtx580m card for the lowest temperatures ? thx
I had there IC diamond, which is inaccessible in my country.

and what do you think for ex. about this:
Thermaltake CL-O0027 TG-1 Extreme Thermal Grease
    AKASA Pro Grade+ AK-TC 5022
    Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound

    good , wrong ? thx.

i'm not familiar with all those...except the MX-2.

There is only about 2 degrees difference between MX-2 and the newest Mx-4, so it is considered still a good paste. I'd go with that

Really any are good pastes. MX-2 is probably the best. To be honest though, the best pastes will only run a few degrees cooler.

From my experience the card comes pre pasted. The paste spread seems pretty well on the pre paste, before asking the tech to repaste the card (which he might reject) make sure he knows what he is doing. You may have a better paste but the tech will simply overuse, underuse or mess up on the spread thus really hindering your cooling. I would reccomend staying with the pre paste. my oc'ed card 850/1100 with the pre paste idles at 60 thus not taking the risk of having a bad paste job done by the tech might be a better choice for you. Then in the future if you notice you are running hot, just repaste yourself, watch a few good guides and to be sure you are assembling/disasembling the right way just watch the tech closely.. Heck video record him :)

I'd recommend that you try the paste pad that Dell uses with the 580M heatsink. After years of automatically repasting GPU's at the earliest opportunity with after-market paste (currently MX-4 or PK-1), I followed Mr. Fox's recommendation to give the factory paste a chance when I recently replaced the 580M heatsink. The stuff is working like a charm. 3dMark11 at 750/850 never exceeds 61C; Vantage at the same settings tops out at 64C. I've yet to see the GPU temps exceed 70C with this stuff (Batman AC, Just Cause, Crysis, etc.), conceding that I have not done any serious overclocking (voltage at .92v and clocks at 850+/1900+) with it yet. Still, I've been impressed with the performance so far. Seems like sacrilege, but the factory stuff is worth a try.

Rev, was this on the revised 580m heatsink, not the original?

Yes, the paste pad was included with the new revised heatsink.

So it looks like they heard the complaints about throttling and are at least trying to keep to the temps down. This is encouraging. Thanks for the info +
