    hi guys...
    i want to ask...
if we using ac adapter to turn on our m17x should we unplug the battery...???
or just using the ac adapter while the battery is still plug to the laptop...???
cause i heard that if we turn on our computer with ac adapter and didnt unplug the battery it will shorten battery's lifespan...
    is it so...??
    which one is true...???

It was discussed many times before, search is your friend. In short it is too much hassle to remove the battery all the time. Instead you can prevent the adapter from charging it by fn+f2 and only charge when it nears depletion.

hi klemens, the point in here is that you'll always short your batery life using it while it's full charged and with plug in so, the way to prevent such event is to remove the batery while pluged in.

But the batery will always become shorter and shorter, until we have a revolution of tecnology in batteries, the only thing to do is to read the threads created to save and make longer the life of your laptop batery ;)

^+1. I think that's about the same way the last thread ended about this topic. Cheap UPS.
