I saw a thread a while back where someone here bought a 580 from Dell for 500ish dollars. Directly from Dell! And they actually got the card with new heat sink and all.

Currently goes for about $650 if you source it from dell...and they actually sell it to you. price drop recently

But the question is, why would you want to buy a 580 now when the 7000's from AMD are coming in december?

nvidia's next gen Kepler is coming Q2 2012

It all depends on the tech support guy. If you find a good one, he might sell it to you at a cheaper price.

I was able to upgrade to a 6990m from my 6970m for 100 bucks.

If you go through regular sales, they will charge you an arm and a leg. Sometimes tech guys wants to charge you a higher price.

i just read that the price drop is only in systems

For individual card pricing Dell wants $1100 for the 580m and 6990m is $620 so that hasnt changed

I had a problem with the 900p screen. The dude wanted to give me the 120 Hz 3d screen with 560m.

I told him to give me the 60hz 1080p screen with the 6990m, and he was alright with it.
