hey guys im pretty new to the forum but im going to stick around, been lurking here for a while and its helped me with a lot.

I purchased an m17x r3 with the 6970m, im a guy who likes to future proof and i feel the 6970m isnto so good in terms of that.

Im a music producer and so id of preffered the m18x with its pci slot and its dual gfx capabilities and extra screen real estate but at the time it wasnt an option due to funds.

Is there a place to source a 6990m in trade of a 6970m as every place ive asked and ive been lurking this forum too, they ask a lot for the card with me being in england would cost me £250 just to upgrade to a 6990 based on contacting eurocom. As for dell, they quoted £482 for someone to fit it, but the price just dosent cut it.

Ive been lurking the forum and saw a post that someone on here trades or sells mxm cards but the thread is old and i didnt catch who it was or if theyre even active.

Id ideally love to trade for a m18x or buy outright and sell my new m17x r3 as i could really do with the extra screen, detrimentalpci slot ( i have an emu 1616m interface) and the dual gfx card slots incase next ge nisnt mxm 3b and i cangt upgrade my m17x r3.

does anyone know where i can do so?

    Thanks guys

Check the NBR marketplace or ebay.

Now why do you want to go from a 6970 to a 6990? A modest overclock on the 6970 will give you very close to 6990 performance for free

I'll help you with the overclock if you need it

yeah i overclocked with trixx, i got 800 core 1050 mem and had good temps, its just the ability to sli or xfire that makes it future proof. its a good little card, went from 20 fps to 25 fps in 1080p in ungine, its decent but nothing like my previous sli 560gtx.
