    im a noob at this, but I see a lot of people hating on the R3.

    I wanted to get the 16GB ram option and the 3.2 processor and the 460 nvida.


    on the canadian alienware site they have had the R2 for $600 off for the past month,

    which one is more powerful and faster.

    also why do people need 2 graphics cards

    It depends. The R2 currently has the fastest GPUs but not the fastest CPUs (unless you go into the 9**xm chips). The R3 has newer but limited tech such as CPU options and GPU options. The R2 currently as it is, will beat out a R3 but remember this, the R2 is probably at the end of its upgrade path. The R3 is just getting started and 'might' become faster but only time will tell.
