Thanks for the fast replies....ya i have never heard of a 2gb 5870 so it must be xfire (i hope)...other than the lower rez screen (thanks for pointing that out, i missed that point) it seems to be a killer price. I cant get within 700 dollars of this on the alienware site....makes no sense to me that i can get it through a distributer cheaper than direct! newegg has a simular one but the specs are a little less.

I just went back to see specs again, and wow! It actually has a slot load bluray drive, impressive...but again, the display is a real deal breaker! :( Why have a sexy bluray player without having a 1920x1080 display to actually enjoy the bluray movies...sad... real sad... I also like movies and 3D besides gaming...so I'm still hoping the future M18x will have the 3D ability with a nice screen realastate.

but, if you are just into gaming, then I'd say this is a good one....

Ya, im stricly a gamer......i think im going to go for this system. I am moving away from a asus g73. i know this isnt the worlds biggest upgrade but to be honest, i have wanted an alienware for a long time and the cool factor is a big part of it.

Or you can connect it to an external one(HDMI).
The RGB screen is one of the forte points of the m17x. Might want to try a deal with Dell tell them about this one and if you can add a little it'll be worth it.

:D You're pretty smart. Seriously, why did I not think of it? While at home or office, you can connect the lap to the nice monitor, 1920x1080 that way....
