System: Alienware M17R3, Win7 ultimate. If I watch a 3D movie the aero theme looses the transparency. Cannot re-enable after the movie is over. Rebooting fixes the problem. Tried to use win7 aero troubleshoot (no error found), restart UxSms, added 3 new dwords in registry (a suggested fix) but no luck. I consider rebooting as a fix unacceptable.

    Any wise men out there?

The most recent version of OSD was released partially to address the aero problem and has resolved it for me. http://support.dell.com/support/dow...dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=476736. There is also a small utility called AlienwareAeroFix that was linked in the formerly stickied Aero thread that could be run within Windows to reset and restore aero themes and transparency. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/606203-m17x-r3-aero-issues.html. The utility works well, but have had no need for it recently.
