    Hey all,

I've been thinking as ive been upgrading all of my components in my M17x R3, is it worth upgrading the 2720QM?

    If so whats recommended?

    Thanks

Not worth it, as very little if anything outside benching taxes current CPU.

Put your spec's in your sig. ;)

Yes if you use CPU intensive software. For gaming the 2720QM is fine.

even if you do use intensive programs, hardly any difference. certainly not worth the stupid money they charge.

unless you can get one cheap on the bay

As others have already said...its not worth the upgrade. Even if you had the 2630qm, it really isn't worth the upgrade...The 2720 is a great CPU.

The only thing that i would say is worth it is if you get the 2920/2960xm and overclock to 4+ ghz...but that's an expensive upgrade. (Still your games won't run much faster)

i know i'm being a hyprocrite by telling you to not upgrade and yet i'm upgrading myself lol...but i'm doing it just because i want something faster and not because i have a need for it.
