    Hyey guys-
quick question. The 5870m I bought was misrepresented and sent without an x-bracket.
There are cheap ati x-brackets on ebay but they seem to be for an m17x r3 not an r2. I know different video cards were used between the 2 models- are the brackets the same or do I have to look for an r2 ati x-bracket?

Brackets are the same, just look for 4870/5870m x bracket.

There is not such a thing like r2/r3 x-brackets because...

...all x-brackets have the same screw cross allignment dimensions, only internal square is different.

Just make sure you fit it on your card and it will fit yur laptop as well :)

Sorry for Hijacking the thread but I'm doing this right now from old 6990m-->7970M. Does it matter if the Bracket does not stick to the card anymore?
