Hello
I been thinking on buying a 4k tv as monitor for gaming and watching movies. I know gaming at 4k is very taxing so i would probaly run at resolutions half that in order to get good frame rates with my 980ms. The question I have is with the HDMI out m18x r2 has... I believe you need HDMI 2.0 to support 4k @60HZ and if I am not mistaken the r2 only has HDMI 1.4. (correct me if Iam wrong)
If this is the case. Is there a way around this? or what would be the best way to hook up a 4k tv to m18x r2?
thanks

miniDP port I guess? I did read something about this folks using 100+ HZ screens via miniDP port either direct or with to-HDMI adapters, just an idea really, I dont know for sure

You will be limited to 3840x2160 @ 30hz unless the chroma is set to 4:2:0 then it will run at 60hz but will look bad.
I think the miniDP on the R2 was 1.2 so later this year when someone makes a proper active DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter, you can use one of those to get the proper resolution with the proper refresh rate.
