    are there any backplates that cover BOTH memory banks on the back of the card?

    Yes, the clevo brackets that eurocom sells as well as some chinese sellers have a thick copper backplate that cools both sets of rear VRMs

    Needs slight modding around one of the screw areas where the card screws into the motherboard post

    Isn't fan in Alienwares directly pushing air to the bottom of the card so it doesn't need bottom radiator?

    Alienware version has top bank covered because heat is coming through heatsink. It doesn't need bottom banks covered because there's fan pushing air directly under gpu.

    Clevo versions have bottom banks covered.
