the individual that bought my card stated that it came in a dirty box filled with hair and grime when i spent an hour packaging into a brand new box with foam and inside a brand new ziploc bag

i issued a refund but would like to know where the actual serial number of the card is located so i can know 100% that this is the card i sent because kind of feel like im being scammed

3rd alienware GPU i sold in 6 months never had a single complaint before

I bought a used card from a guy once and he swore it worked when he removed it. Would not even boot up in my PC. I tried his card in another PC and it worked. It didnt like my PC for some reason. Anyways its scary selling thing like video cards. You should have marked it in a secret location before you shipped it.

well it is marked in a certain way in a certain location however that might not be a valid argument for the ebay dispute resolution staff...mismatched serial would be better but many of the serial #s on the board are stickers and i don't even know which one is for the actual board

Yes, I've cleaned my hands from the video card business myself after going through an absolutely ridiculous time selling my 3 R9 M290X cards. Record serial numbers and vBIOS versions ALWAYS before sending out. I try only to sell to reputable NBR people, because my buyers on ebay have been flaky at best. I had a guy try to tell me my card I sold him was DOA and ding my reputation, only to find that the card (which I had to pay return shipping for), was perfectly fine, and then told me after the fact, he found out the card was incompatible, even though I explicitly said no returns for incompatibility issues.

Regardless, good luck man. I hope you get it sorted.

well i got the card back of course it had no smell and worked fine when i tested it in my R2

so i basically wasted a week and $$ because someone's laptop wasn't compatible with it or they just changed their mind about it

to be fair I sold over $3000 worth of stuff in the last few months and this is the first negative experience i had so ill try to look past it as a learning experience

I sold both of my 980M cards and 4930K CPU on eBay for the prices I wanted to get for them. The only thing that sucked was having to wait about a week to get funds available in PayPal for the GPUs. I actually cancelled the 4930K auction and finished the transaction in cash with a local person that found it on eBay. The CPU sold within hours and both GPUs sold in a couple of days using the "Buy it Now" option.

Glad it turned out well. There is always a risk of getting screwed over by dishonest people and even though my experiences have been positive I am always a bit nervous about buying and selling anything expensive and/or fragile on eBay.
