Stealth, do you play skyrim? Do you know if it utilizes the second GPU with this driver?

they seem to have forgotten to fix the brightness controls lol on the driver. Yes intense i do play it on crossfire it works great for me now but it didnt before. i had to add this file Download atiumdag.dll from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way to the elder scrolls folder in my programs files and disable surface opti. on CCC because i got black squares when anything is set on fire.

For a temporary "fix" to allow you to control brightness, you can use this: DimScreen

Brightness Control not working for me with the lastest driver provided by Dell (8.902-111012a-128052C-Dell).

Honestly the dell one performs about the same but as everyone has previously stated it just feels smoother. No idea why but the dell one at this point is my choice.

Yes, this is a known issue. It seems to affect most users with AMD Mobility driver releases after 11.8 or 11.9. If your screen brightness is too high for your liking, you can use this tool to dim the screen: DimScreen Download. If your screen is too dim, this utility will not increase the display brightness.

Yes, the second one (Dell driver) is the recommended driver to install.

Remember to do a clean driver installation to avoid problems. (If you're not familiar with that process, I believe you can find it posted more than once earlier in this thread.)

I clean installed the new Dell drivers and ran 3DVantage. Score up from 20719 to 21902.

My GPUs are running at 680/900 which is obviously low.

I have MSI after burner - is it simply a case of clicking the settings - general tab & checking the unlock voltage control to up these settings? Or how do I do it

I understand I should be safe enough with 830/1100?

    Thanks for the help

I am not 100% sure about using MSI to OC the 6970's - I think that most guys have been using Sapphire Trixx to OC the gpu's - I used it a bit and was very simple to do. From recollection, my max OC when I had a 6970xf system was about 850/1150 (that was purely for benching, not everyday clocks). That would be getting close to the cards max OC - different cards OC differently, some get higher clocks and some get really low OC too. Pot luck. I would advise against running those kind of overclocks 24/7 unless you are happy to replace gpu's before their time is up!

If you wanted to ask over here http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m18x/574780-official-alienware-m18x-benchmark-thread.html , I am sure the guys into OC will be able to answer ANY question you may have!

Glad you got the drivers installed and working with a nice performance bump too!

Stealth, what video cards do you use? Didn't you say there was a way for me to get it working with my Eurocom 6990's in my M17xr2?

Also, what app profiles are you using?

In addition, it seems like the dell driver is OLDER than the 11.12 AMD beta (8.92 vs 8.93).

    Thoughts?

EDIT: That atim.dll file worked well with my 5870's and 11.10 + app profiles 11.9 CAP 4 but with my current set up (11.12 + 11.11 CAP2) that .dll makes everything run horribly.

Team - bear with me momentarily as I create a sticky thread for fresh discussion of all the testing of the officially released Dell AMD drivers. With the lag time on the release this will give Dell/Alienware an easier thread to follow your feedback.

If you have tested the drivers that were posted on the Dell web site (not the beta originally linked here), please add your feedback to the new thread that will be posted shortly. Nobody will get dinged for cross-posting in this case. :)

Please continue the discussion here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...ver-p06-8-902-released-dell-discuss-here.html
