I'm ready to order my M18 (my M17xR3 has served me brilliantly over the last couple years but is starting to have a few issues).
If you'll forgive my laziness, I was hoping someone here could spare a minute to let me know if there are any likely big upgrades which will be made available in M18 customisation in the near future...? A new graphics card was made available literally the day after I ordered my M17xR3. If there's anything like this likely to happen, I'd love to know.
    Cheers.

If you plan on buying GTX 765M or 770M, wait for GTX 860M releasing this month.
Also, Maxwell GTX 880MX which kicks the living crap out of GTX 780M is maybe 3-4 months away..

Thanks, that's given me something to think about. I was planning on getting the 780Ms. Is there any reason why you specified only the 765/770 vs 860M? I assume 860M>780M also?

GTX 860M will be better than 765M and perhaps better than 770M but will run cooler. It will not be as good as GTX 780M dont think about GTX 860M. If you can wait 3-4 months I`d do that to see if 880MX arrives. It will be the greatest investment by far

I pulled the trigger, the 780ms are awesome. I know that 880mx could be around the corner but I'm not personally one to care if I'm not running the latest and greatest. The 18 is just fine for all my gaming needs and I am happy with my purchase. If you need a computer to game on or use just buy it. No use worrying about the next best thing if there is no official news on it. Just my 2 cents.

780m is the way to go if you are planning to purchase it now. The performance increase from that to any new line coming should not be a lot.

Yep in the near future there is nothing that will make the 780M seem slow, the 870M and below are interesting but the top dog is staying where it is pretty much.
