The video shows it all. Its been driving me nuts since I got the laptop. I explain in the video how I have tried iphones 5-7plus, the video is a ipad 2, and tried my nieces mini ipad. Tried under windows 7 and now windows 10. Tried different wires and all usb ports. Laptop is always plugged in but even tried using battery power. Same result. This video was shot after a fresh install of windows 10 and haven't even installed itunes yet.
My usb mouse, and memory sticks work fine, a external hard drive i use works fine. But one older external hard drive for some reason was doing this what you see in the video but not every second, it was like every 15 minutes or so. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried another cord? They can and will get broken wires internally that you cannot see, it's magnified a hundredfold if it's a Lightning connector.

yes, i stated that above, tried all different cords on all four ports. I even bought a usb extender that had four ports on it because someone said for some reason connecting it to the port on his external keyboard worked for him. I dont know why it would work for him, but it didn't work for me. lol.

It might be a driver conflict, have you checked device manager to see if you have any devices that have exclamation points next to them? Installed all the drivers, like for chipsets and suchforth?

try applying a little bit of force ( upside or downside) on the usb connector while plugged in to the laptop ..if that works, its an issue with the usb port as its solder joints might have got loose and would probably need a replacement or resoldering job
