Hey everyone! Im working on upgrading my Alienware 18 that had dual friend M290X's, to a single 1060.

    Unlocked bios? Check.
    SG graphics mode? Check.
modify nvdmi.inf to allow driver installation? Check.

But no matter what I do, I cannot get the computer to put any load on the video card.

It sounds like a similar issue to whats discussed on this thread

So I thought id ask @ssj92 , see if you could help.

After I get it all working perfectly, im going to post as detailed a guide I can for this, since there isn't a lot on it online that I could find.

Thanks anyone in advance ^.^ :)

Do not modify mvdmi.ini instead do the mods to nv_display.ini and try again.

Will your M18XR2 nv_display.inf work for the alienware 18? I assumed it wouldnt, so I was curious what mods you needed to do inside the inf?

Don't tell me you bought the eurocom gtx 1060, inf mods will become a mess with that card. It took me hours to find the right section to use to make optimus work with my eurocom gtx 1070 then 10 minutes later the card died.
