    Hello,
Ever since i upgraded to Windows 10 "August 2015", i started encountering random weird glitches in start menu, action center and taskbar context menu missing some text / thumbnails / icons.
    I created a post @Microsoft Answers

Long story short: only lately i found that disabling SLI fixes all my issues

    Does anyone encounter such glitches?
Is it possible to disable SLI for windows Desktop/Explorer only?

FYI, I am running Win10 on Alienware 18 Laptop Bios V A10 with dual Nvidia 780m graphics cards with Nvidia Driver v361.91

I upgraded a while back and dont have any issues. I have 780 SLI.

I have not used anything but Official WHQL drivers. In fact I think I am still useing the original Win 10 driver. Untill I have to upgrade the driver I am leaving it alone.

I'm running bios a12, with my 880s in pure UEFI with no problems. I was using the 980ms, but one fried :( so I went back to my 880s. Maybe it's the win10 build your using. I still say win10 is a work in progress. And I'm using Nvidia driver 359.06, the 361 branch is a mess.

Yeah, sounds like a Windows 10 issue going on. I've had some really goofy experiences with SLI under Windows 10, including ranomly having to kill some processes to enable or disable SLI, and a few examples somewhat similar to yours. I've had a couple of times when the Start menu was just totally blank. You could navigate it and point at invisible icons, but you could not tell what you were going to launch without any icon or text to look at. That would come and go randomly, sometimes frequent, but other times rarely.

Since DX12 isn't relevant at this point in time, I cannot see a legitimate basis for Windows 10 to even exist, much less a good reason for it to be used by anyone. It's pretty much a piece of trash OS.

Is it? Really? Or, does it just not require payment in the form of money?

I think they are more interested in stealing your soul than taking your money.

I was wondering given all the fuss about Windows 10 upgrades, NVIDIA drivers bricking AW18 Screens
I own an Alienware 18 (Mid 2013) with the following specs, without any overclocking done nor custom drivers would there be any issues if upgraded to windows 10 ?

    Intel Core i7-4900MQ 2.8GHz
    RAM: 16 GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M SLI 3 GB ---- Driver Ver: 10.18.13.6175 WHQL (ForceWare 361.75)
    BIOS Ver. A10
    Monitor : 184HL [DELL P/N: XJY7J]
Running : Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional with Media Center (x64) Build 9600

Other than switching to a piece of trash OS that perform poorly in comparison and gives you less control over the functionality of your computer, no issues. Just don't install EVGA Precision X or you'll brick your screen.

To be honest I like the look and feel of win10 but its been hard to keep it stable on my m18xr2. Dunno why but even a fresh install shows corruption under sfc /scannow and while I have it working again it sometimes starts up corrupted and I have to use a backup image to restore it.

The OSD driver is sluggish to install on the current tho I eventually got it installed but Im at a bit of a loss as to why its acting the way it is.

Because it's a horrible mess and just doesn't work well, even if you like the look and feel. It's really quite the abortion in terms of quality, and it's arguably the least secure version of Windows Micro$loth has ever released. One major difference is, now it is very insecure on purpose, and by design, instead of by accident. Hands down, I'd say it has to be greatest disappointment in a product from the Redmond Mafia since Windows ME. I thought the same about Windows 8, so they must be on a roll now. As the lesser of two evils, Windows 8 was a much better product. But, I really don't like grading on a curve. I don't know why they have chosen to not be awesome at what they do any more... really sucks that they have.
