I have Alienware 18 updated with videocards 980m from CEG with modified drivers

In one day I found in Dell the vBios for Alienware 18 with 980m and then installed it

After rebooting I get black screen and 8 beeps.

If I connect external monitor, bios loaded on second monitor and then I can disconnect external monitor. Everything working well with two videocards till next reboot. If not connect external monitor then will get 8 beeps.

When switching to Intel HD card, bios loaded and then black monitor. Need connect external monitor to see Windows. If disconnect Intel HD in Windows, monitor work. Also monitor work if loaded with Safe mode.

I tried reinstall Windows, Bios, shift Bios from A12 to A10 and then to A12 again. Replaced videocards to original 2x770m SLI. Nothing help.

Maybe somebody can help me to recognize the problem.

I would try to load optimal defaults in bios with external monitor then make sure non turbo flex support is disabled as Mr. fox had a similar issue with his m18x-r2. Also double check the lcd cable is seated properly and not damaged as you probable had disconnect it to swap gpu's. 8 beeps means lcd gpu or possibly mobo or something in-between. But if it works with an external monitor its probable not the gpu or mobo. Also try resetting the cmos there is instructions on how to do somewhere on this site its a pain with the alienware18 can't just unplug cmos and drain power

They say it is enough just to install the updates for later upgrade to Win 10 ;) Write a post in the thread then you get some guidance http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-1-and-especially-10-bricking-systems.781467/
