    Hello guys,

Something problem with my alienware when my little nephew hit with her magic hand straight at the middle keyboard. :(

I power up my alienware and it beeps 3 times.
The screen is blank. But keyboard is light on.

I already check the beeps tables and its say "System Board Chipset Failure".
Can I fix it my self?
Its hard for me to bring it to Dell service center because far away and i need to travel with plane.

    Specs :
    Alienware M18xR2
    i7-36xx (forget)
    Nvidia GTX 660M
    RAM 8GB

Besides that, i think my CMOS Battery run out. Because everytime my alienware turn on, i must set the time manually. Any idea?

    Please advise, thank you all.
Sorry for my bad language and typo

If that kid hit with enough force, he could have caused some damage to the motherboard. Try removing the battery and power adapter, then hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then put the battery back in and try again.

Pressing the power button without the battery and power adapter will clear the CMOS. Glad it worked for you. As far as the time not being kept, it could be that the CMOS battery on your motherboard has drained or is disconnected and is not keeping basic settings like time and date. That CMOS battery is a small circular battery with a wire harness connected to the motherboard. It is located just above the RAM from the bottom of your laptop. Those batteries are cheap and easy to replace.
