    i7 2630QM
    6gig ram
    1 Nvidia 460m
    1 SSD, 1 7200rpm

    I play BF3 on High settings.. with out even a glimmer or an issue.

    Yes.. the only thing on ultra is texture. This was how it set it self up for me, and Ive had no issues. In fact I have better game play with BF3 than I did with RAGE.

    Decided to upgrade from my m11 to the m18 for battlefield.
    I decided to go with the i7-2760QM, 16gb of ram and dual 6990's - what sort of things should I do to ensure I get the most out of the system for the game?

    I have to say that I have maxed out all the settings and I never see any slowdowns. My setup is nothing crazy and I use the latest drivers without any cap updates.

    Last I checked the latest cap update was for 10.9 so since I am using the higher version drivers those caps should be included.

    What your ordering will handle it with excellent performance. My rig is less than half that with the exception I use a SSD for my OS and Game installations.

    The new 285.79b drivers make BF3 run alot smoother with a constant 60 frame rate.

    I just found out the 'RU' version indeed means Russian Edition. I can have the key for just $26.99 and then Install the language pack and play it in English. Its already region free.

    My question would be what about future updates, Will I have to mess around with language packs after the next update patches?

    Hi guys just got my m18x this week (2760qm xf6990) and for some reason it's not using both gpus on BF3. I installed cap 4 when i was still on the dell stock drivers then uninstall it with 11.9. (do i have to install cap4 again?)

    A clean AMD driver installation maybe needed. Just follow the steps in the post I have made elsewhere and it should help you out.

    Thats what I feared, and I talked to their support they told me they scan Keys from retails sealed boxes that were meant to be sold in Russia. I use the key and activate it inside the origin thingy and the proceed to download the digital copy through origin.

    So am guessing once I activate that key in my name its going to be mine forever? Never done digital downloads before only bought discs.

    i dont know mharidas...i would hunt for a usa key to be honest....but if you feel comfortable...then go for it.

    and the lang pack does work for it.

    i just adjusted everything to ULTRA with 4xA and game play is smoother than icecream. My specs are in my sig.

    Graphical changes need restarting the game to take effect, are you sure you are getting smooth rates really at 'those' settings? 4XMSAA is just too heavy for any single card. :eek:

    But I don't have the retail game, my experience is only from the closed BETA.

    Yea ... he isn't ... at least thats my guess. Considering the FPS people on 580s have been getting .... a single 460 on Ultra with 4x Msaa ... its going to get crushed.

    Some issue with DX11 function calls. Unlikely Windows 7's DX11 dll libraries are corrupted, must be BF3's own exe causing this.

    Please do, I am very interested in the video, thank you for taking time to make it. I am still puzzled how you are able to game smooth on everything Ultra on a single card at stock clocks.

    You can make a video with your digicam, that way the frame rates should not be affected.

    After the 285.79 update my M18x is also running at max settings with 4xMSAA. The new driver allows BF3 to be ran at 57 to 60FPS. With 285.62 I had to turn MSAA to 2x to get the same frames.

    If that's the pattern then its a big success for DICE it would mean with the proper optimizations their engine isn't very demanding after all. And it still looks great at medium settings, even though the lack of shaders on the weapons and certain surfaces is very noticeable. But the lighting is phenomenal.

    Crazy....the only way he is going to be able to do a video is by using a video camera. That's going to be interesting....at the very least he has to be SLI.

    AMD 6990s USers, do you know whats the best driver to use for this game? I currently have 11.9 official drivers, didnt upgrade to the 11.10 cause of the brightness issue i was hearing.

    I know amd is slower when it comes to drivers but i fugure by now there should be a decent driver for this game.

    Im not claiming the same. If your refering to me. I never said anything about FPS. I get an average of 40fps.. thats with out tweaking. Anyhow im not claiming. Its the truth. I used the latest driver available and it improved my gameplay almost by 50 percent.

    I'm using 11.10 WHQL and get a solid 50-60 FPS at all time in BF3 SP, have only played a couple of games of MP as I'm getting stuck into MW3 now. The brightness issue has never bothered me playing in the light or dark.
