Hello folks
I snapped a ribbon cable clip on my motherboard. Its actually the one that secures the ribbon cable which powers my Alienware 18 up.
Its currently taped up to hold it secure.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement clip, or a way of holding the cable in without tape?
Thank you
Steve

I have the same problem with an old Clevo on which I am going to attempt a mobo replacement.
I got used to using a wireless usb keyboard but going to try to restore the ribbon without a clip, maybe can figure out a way to wedge instead of using tape.
Sorry I can’t help with how to find a clip but if I can figure out something will let you know.
Hope someone can help...maybe you can try a search in the marketplace here. -
I remember someone on this forum using an plastic soda bottle to make a replacement clip. Something you could try? as for a replacing with an official part, you will probably have to find another motherboard to part from or replace the motherboard.

Hi guys
Thanks both for your replies. Much appreciated. I read elsewhere on t'internet that this is an irreversible breakage in terms of replacements.
I'll use the 'fudging it' method (plastic wedge)
I think there's a gap in the market for ribbon cable clips !
