I have a Samsung LTM184HL01 18.4" screen in my Alienware 18 and I used to use calibrated color profiles which I got online through searching but never really noticed any difference to be honest.
I just got a Spyder4Pro Color Calibration device and calibrated my screen and the results are amazing! Colors looks so much crisper and the screen is not overly bright anymore![]()
Best of all it's super easy to use and takes no more than 5 minutes as you place the device on your screen and let it do the magic.

Hey,
Please upload color profile to try it on Samsung 184HT

This only works for the Samsung 18.4" LTM184HL01 screen. Do not use it on any other screen as that's the screen the color profile was calibrated for.
The ZIP file contains the profile and screenshots of exactly how the settings were made using SpyderPro so match the settings to the screenshots particularly in the ADVANCED screen and first tab of the color management
You will also notice there is a WinSxS folder in there, in that, there is another folder. I wasn't sure if that folder is included by default by Windows or if SypderPro actually put that in there but I copied it because I saw some items were linked to files in it so check first if those files are there by default if not, then just copy the entire WinSxS folder to the Windows directory and let it overwrite any files if it finds them
Download link is in the original post.
I told my friend that I bought the Spyder4Pro from Amazon which isn't available in Dubai and he offered to buy it from me for double the price I got it! So I sold it since I've already calibrated my screen for $408 USD
The Spyder5 will be released soon so I'll buy that once it comes out and hook you all up with a new profile. But for now, enjoy the Spyder4 profile
Just pre-ordered the Datacolor S5P100 Spyder5PRO which will be released on the 7th of April

Yeah looks kinda suckish on 184HT in M18xR1. You don't have M18xR1/R2 do you?
-

Nope, that's why I said, you can only use this profile if you have the same screen as I do. It looks brilliant and the colors are so much more vibrant. It took my eyes a few hours to adjust initially I was like WTF is this but that's because my eyes were used to the old crappy colors. After trying this, I urge anyone to find his exact same screen color profile and do it. only an exact color profile for your exact screen will work, you can't try someone else's profile. This is a great investment and best of all, once you buy it you can calibrate as many screens as you want so want. -
Thanks a lot Matrix.
Was this calibration done at full brightness?

Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Do you have the same screen man?
Yes it was done at full brightness pulled down the curtains so that the sunlight won't affect the ambiance and turned on the halogen lamps. then SpyderPRO shows you the before and after colors live and the difference is very big.
Congrats if you have the same screen, then you just got yourself a $150 USD color profile for free

have 3 Alienware 18's in the lab...ones bound to have this screen (fingers crossed). Probably a stupid question but how do I identify my particular screen? Through device manager or is there a different way?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Through HWiNFO:
EDIT: That model SDC4C48 is not the exact model I got. I got to know the model number when they once replaced my screen I actually saw the model number. I don't know how else can one see the exact model
-
Isnt 184HL one and only model as 184HT is?
And one more thing. With two HD6990M I couldn't see display hardware name, only on iGPU. -

Aida64 is also a very good utility for hardware identification
-
Thank you Matrix. If you were to use hwinfo64 or aida64 would Samsung LTM184HL01 show up? If not when I go home ill be ripping some bezels off

AIDA64 EXTREME gave me part of the model number but didn't say LTM, that's still not bad:

Searching the Dell part number from the Aida sceenshot (XJY7J) came up with this: http://www.itcsales.co.uk/acatalog/XPS-18-LCD--18-4--FHD-Glossy----LTM184HL01-XJY7J-2388.html
Clearly shows the full ID as LTM184HL01Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

Thanks a lot mat! so now we know AIDA64 is the best for identifying monitors. I tried every tool out there, Speccy, HwINFO64, even monitor Asset Manager can't find it -
apparently All my Alienware 18s have the right screen

Review: http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS/datacolor-spyder5/
"As in the previous generation, the Spyder5-series colorimeters still use a seven-detector optical module, but Datacolor says that it provides up to a 55% improvement in tonal response, and yields both better shadow calibration and smoother gradients."
Stay tuned for a new calibrated profile for the Samsung LTM184HL01 screen

Awesome!
If there is an option to calibrate a screen for the GUNNAR Computer Eyeglasses with Amber lens tint, can you do it for us?

Anyone with M18xR1 lives in Dubai? We could have nice color profile if so!

I can only do a profile for the screen I have unless you live in Dubai then I would do it for you for free -

Mind you, you cannot fully benefit from all the stuff like the automatic ambient light adjustment which monitors the ambient light every 10 mins and changes the screen accordingly if you don't have the actual device connected to your computer but the profile should suffice for most general uses. It was created in an average not bright / not dark lighting in the evening and the lights that I have in my living room are bright halogen bulbs
The moment you apply the profile you should notice a little halogen tint of color on the screen, if you didn't let me know so I can post the exact settingsLast edited: Apr 15, 2015Papusan likes this. -

something interesting I noticed, when I first reboot, I can see the old not so orangy colors that I had before calibration, only a few seconds later when the Spyder5Pro loads do I actually notice a huge difference so I don't know if just manually adding the profile will make any difference without having the actual program
Papusan likes this. -
Are you see any difference between Spyder4 and Spyder5 profiles?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
there is a small difference, but not a lot. Between the stock and the spyder profiles though there is a night and day difference.Papusan likes this. -
Thank you so much for the profile it is really night and day compared to stock. Using the Spyder5 profile :-D

Awesome and thanks for the feedback. I load the profile using the Spyder5 Program do you really see a difference if you load it manually? like is the difference visible when you compare before and after? That's great then it can benefit everyone by simply loading the profile. You do have my same screen right?Papusan likes this. -
Yeah I have the same exact screen you do. I'm running windows 7 and I just went into color management, loaded the .icc profile and boom! Better screen lol. It really is night and day. I mean I liked the 18 screen a lot. Coming from an M18x R1 it was a huge upgrade. I also had a M17x R2 with the RGB screen which I loved. This profile, for me at least, brings the 18 screen close to my old M17x RGB if not surpasses it.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Perfect! thanks for sharing your feedback.
Just FYI, here are how the Color Management settings for me look that were set by the spyderPRO5 app, just ensure yours is the same:
-
So, that means this profile is not requiring the spyder program?
That's cool, I will try it. But I don't think I will see a big difference between this profile and your earlier version. (Same screen BTW)

OK, I installed this profile, and as I thought, don't see differences... I think Spyder5Pro have advantages only if you use it with software and ambient light sensors.
But anyway, thanks, this profile is better than default one. ^^ -

Anyone in the Los Angeles Area that can calibrate my m18x r2 screen ?
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
What's your screen model? -
Ummm, how can I find out the screen model?? I have an m18x r2.
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Try HWiNFO, then go to the screen tab and expand it although in my case it doesn't give me the model number just gives me a generic DELL part number. You need to open the front bezel of the screen, take the screen out, then look at its back there would be the name/model
Without doing this, you cannot just use any color profile, it isn't a generic thing where you can apply it to any monitor chances are it may or may not things even worse...... you have to have the color profile for your exact screen model otherwise noone can help really.Papusan likes this. -
The M18xR1 and M18xR2 have the same screen. See images below for model info.

.. I also have a colour profile which you could use to tweak compare with
.. Let me know and I'll PM you and get the ball rolling

I can make a color profile for you if you send me your monitor to Dubai. I need the actual thing to make a profile using the spyder5Pro otherwise you have to google for a ready made one.Papusan likes this. -
Well it's a laptop display... I have no idea how to remove it etc... No worries if in your travels accross the web you come across something for this model, please do share with us
..
Can you do 1 thing though? PMing you this profile.. Basically my screen feels a bit too yellow.. Is there any way to make the colours a bit cooler maybe? Can you give it a shot? -

no mate there is absolutely nothing I can do without having your laptop physically.
