So i called in today to get my dvd drive replaced (does not read or write), the power button cover/hinge cover replaced (lights don't work), and see if i could get a new screen (really random dimming and flickering lately)....
as soon as i asked for no service tech, send the parts to me, he said i had to send it in to the depot..., i am in Canada and they have never asked me to send it in before... long story short... i was wondering if there were some alienware reps still here on notebook forum that could help me out, getting a service ticket started before my warranty runs out (6 more months left).... i am also wanting to extend my warranty for at least another year....

I believe user "Rachid@Dell" handles Canadian issues on here. Send him a PM.

If I am not mistaken, Rachid is in sales, not support. Mark O's team... Luis Porras, Luis Pardo, Frank L, Pablo R or Natalia J should be able to help answer those questions. This group serves our Community no matter what country they are from. With the actual task service and support at an individual level, they serve all North American customers.

You are correct, my bad. But I'm sure Rachid would have pointed him in the right direction regardless. ;)

SO..... thanks for the quick reply's... but im thinking i will have to send it in now....
i was screwing around with minecraft and some simple game and server mods... when out of no where my screen moves to the left about 4 inches, and pops up on the right side........ i do a restart thinking the game glitched out... i do a restart... eat dinner, then go to launch my game, and poof.. does it again.... so after another restart. i try battlefield 3... seeing if its my gpu's or what.... get in the heli.. start flying, and poof, locked up... go for a restart, and now theres TWO 1-2 inch red stripes going straight up and down on my screen, for 3 restarts.... on the first post screen, on the two windows screens then in windows itself..... i have NEVER had this problem....... anybody hear of this before?

i got a blue screen, restarted, and now i am here, afraid to run anything..... 0_o.....

I would try to work through one of the reps here in the forum that I already listed in an earlier post. If you haven't already done so, send a PM to one of them to get the process started. In addition to getting your system repaired or exchanged, they can also assist you with extending the warranty. Two years of good service is a nice track record for a high performance system. Nothing lasts forever. Extending the warranty is a good idea.

Download WhoCrashed and let it give you more useful information from the "C:\Windows\Minidump\011513-7597-01.dmp" file.

We are internally taking care of the issue, we received an e-mail with the details in our e-mail box. We will probably send the PC in for repairs.

As they say... Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Having to use the 8460 (Elitebook, right?) will make you appreciate that M18x beast more than ever, LOL.

At least it is a better HP model and not a Pavilion or Presario. ;)

They will be able to help you with both. They have been doing the same thing for me (providing support for a small technical issue and are renewing my warranty).
