    All,

Might well be a general Alienware question.

When I hit CAPS a pop up label appears in the bottom right of the screen. CAPS LOCKS : ON/OFF

This causes BFBC2 to go into windowed mode.

    What can I do?

I have set point instlaled and their is an option to disable status settings...but that doesnt fix the problem.

    Answered my own question

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\General\KeyIndication

Change bit from 1 to 0. Reboot.

Hmm, I have the opposite. My system used to give those indications, now it doesn't. Regedit setting is 1, SetPoint has it as on, Not sure what I disabled that caused it to quite happening.

There are 2 of those entries, one under current user the other under local machine, check both. The local machine one is the one that works for this.

Hmm, just hooked up my external keyboard and now i get the big indication in the middle of the screen. It used to be a small indication on the bottom right of the screen. The large indication i can turn off through setpoint. Registry is setup with 1 in the entries.

This is going to bug me, at least until I find the time to research. This is a result of the bluetooth driver. We've had this since the M17xR1. I recall tracking down the fix and posting it back then, but thats it. Definitely in the bluetooth settings. I'll look for my original post but if someone wants to check, try the BT options - there should be something about 'launch at startup' or 'display tasktray icon'. Almost positive thats it.

Hmm, I'll have to research it when I get home. Now that I think about it, as I was building my OS drive, it worked. Probably stopped after I installed the bluetooth drivers. Now it'll bug me too. Haha. I'll look into it a bit later on.

EDIT: It bugged me so I did a keyword search. Here are Batboys posts on it :D Though I couldn't get them linked quite right since they are archived and I couldn't quote them, so I made up the code :p

I assume that setpoint does nothing on my config, setpoint is there for my G700 mouse. But I don't use an external keyboard.

I already had unchecked the bluetooth settings...all I know it that registry setting worked a treat.

Great detective work DR. Thanks for digging that up! I'll try to confirm later this evening that is it. Looks right (what I found previously).

    Addon to the above:

To access your BT items if you have any, just go the route of control panel ---> bluetooth devices. If you have the task tray icon present, its going to show the CAPS LOCK indication when the key is depressed. I have no idea why.
