OK, i have 2 identical 500GB SSD's 1 is currently the C drive and has windows on it. I installed the second disk a while back but booting into the RAID setup i see that its not possible to retain the data converting to RAID 0, all will be lost and that cant happen. I use macrium reflect and do have images on a third 1TB drive, but i am not sure how to acheive my goal of RAID 0 and not losing data, or restoring an image after the formatting. Of course macrium will no longer exist so i am not sure how to proceed.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am thinking here..... while using Macrium;
step 1 FORMAT the HDD E:
step 2 Clone an Image of the current windows (SSD C) onto the HDD (DRIVE E)
step 3 reboot and boot from E: to make sure windows is working.
step 4 reboot again and RAID 0 the 2 SSD's then boot into E
step 5 Clone an Image of E: onto C: RAID 0
step 6 Boot from C (RAID 0) once again
step 7 format E:
long winded, but could work, anyone see any issues or have a much smarter way of doing it ?
Looking at creating bootable media using Macrium, create an ISO and then restore after RAID 0 implementation.

you can create a rescue media with macrium onto a flash drive, that way you can simply image ur C drive, boot from the flash drive and restore said image onto ur new setup. However, i personally dont use/never have used Raid in any of my machines (i prefer the extra storage over speed). Maybe someone whos more experienced with it can chime in

I opted for using Macrium on an external drive to boot from with an image from my spare HDD freshly created. Then converted to RAID 0 and restored. To many issues using windows repair disks and windows repair drive, creating a bootable CD kept failing. The macrium way was completely painless.

ah nice, least it worked out in the end
Converting to RAID 0 without losing data ?
