Whenever I switch back to my 7970m's from the igp, crossfire starts acting up. Games that run normally on crossfire like bf3 lock downs the computer and reboots itself. So what I do is do a system restore before the time I switched to igp and crossfire works perfectly again... Any ideas why?

It might have something to do with Catalyst Control Center or the Intel Control Center being loaded into memory when it should not be. I can vaguely remember having a problem similar to that happening back when I was running 6970M CF and 6990M CF. It did not happen all of the time, but it was frustrating when it did. It hasn't been a problem with 580M SLI or 680M SLI and I never experienced that with 7970M CF.

What I remember doing with the earlier AMD cards was disabling Catalyst Control Center and the Intel Control Center from loading at Windows startup. There is no reason for either of them need to load with Windows. You can run MSCONFIG and disable both. You may want to give that a try and see if it helps. You can still access CCC through the right-click menu without it running at startup.

You can also try opening CCC and applying AMD default settings before you launch your first game after switching from IGFX to discreet GPU. I have found that AMD and NVIDIA default settings seem to work the best in games anyway. As long as you have CAPS that automatically work when the game is launched, there is seldom a need to change the settings from defaults.

Tried doing solutions you suggested but it is still happening. I think this is because of 12.11 b11 + CAP 2. I wasn't having this problem with 12.8. So I will try going back to 12.8 since 12.11 b11 seems the same to me.

I have a 6870ASUS CF working OC and have had no issues... I've been using the 12.8 for a while now, there are some people having problems with the newer versions. Is this update really needed? Let me know what happens after reverting the driver, thank you

I'm surprised that you are even able to install, let alone run with the 12.11-drivers. All I get is BSOD either during the install and if I'm lucky I might be able to run an hour or two before I get BSOD. Any drivers after 12.8 are terrible for 7970M-CF.

I can't switch at all and never could on mine with 6990's and numerous drivers. Maybe I never installed the IGPU drivers because FN+F7 does nothing. I figured they were disabled in CF setups but I guess not. Doesn't really bother me but kind of intrigued now. Running the 12.11 latest at the moment.

I've heard about a few 7970m users having problem with the 12.11 beta (all versions) but I can assure you that it works perfectly on my system.
Not one BSOD and great performance.

I get screen tearing/flickering until I change the resolution and back again. PC seems to get confused which resolution it is rendering.
