HI've not said any offensive or objectionable here in any of my posts. I have not directed any attacks at you personally. But you don't seem to like what I have to say so this will be my last post in your thread as you requested.

    A few last words...

To be factual here your original system purchase was a M17xR3 with a single video card. Unfortunately you bought the replacement system and then unknowingly went ahead to extend the warranty. Is Dell now responsible for continuing to upgrade you? Why are they obligated to give you anything more than a M17xR3 which was the original purchase. Does it matter how much you paid for your extended warranty?

(BTW, does your warranty check online with your service tag say your system is a M17x3 or M18xR1? Lately I've seen where Dell keeps the system listed under warranty as the original system instead of the replacement system.)

Lastly, I already put up with the name calling you wrote in one of your original responses to me and even though I reported your objectionable post, you obviously did not get banned or even bother to apologize. Your just edited your post and pretended it didn't happen.

The only reason I post and participate here in this forum is to provide advice and get tips from other Alienware owners. But lately this has become a forum for service complaints or 7970 bashing. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed and I hope this changes. It is unfortunate I can't even post here without personal attacks.

So, good luck and if either of my predictions come true - replacement system or depot service - I will feel that I have provided good advice.

If you somehow get it fixed via a service or parts sent to you, I'll be very happy for you. It's not that I don't want that to happen, but it just doesn't seem likely to happen in my opinion.

First of all you are the the definition of a hater hear.. you have done nothing but say i should be happy with a broken system.. you have been subjectivly negitive from the get go.. so why shouldnt i be annoyed?
you also seem to think that because a seller edited there sale thread after I bought the machine that i should some how be phycic and know that info.. and only be entitled to a R3 ...(wich is crazy if you ask me.. at how you come to this)
and just because and I dont even know why im still responding to you.. at this point.. but yes my warrenty states M18x-R1.. and so you know when i bought the laptop.. I called and verified the service tag and asked why it was refurbished before i bought it.. and they said that the sseller bought it from the dell outlet.. and that there were no issues with it.. so I ppaid the man for the system.. and as for a good deal1500.00 plus shipping that good of a deal.. but i was happy and had the cash to spend and i didnt want to buy new..

And fyi if you were not so negative when you reply to peoples post and thread (or at least mine) I wouldnt respond the way I do.. For what ever reason you have this delusional thinking on ether A. the original seller is some how still involved or how the money should go back to him or what ever your logic is.. and B. that since I GOT A GOOD DEAL TO BEGIN WITH that i shouldn't be entitled..to my warranty or to get the same customer service that ever one else gets.. and that i should just be happy?"

well you are more than welcome to respond as long as your not so dang negative.. and do I feel i owe you an apology ? no i do not..

and how do you come to the conclusion that im personnel attacking you? lol why because i respond to your negative unhelpful comments? Do you think im attacking you because you seem to have a Thing lets say for me and my post lol.. im mean could it be that you think im attacking you because you feel slighted in some way? that im offending you by trying to get an issue taken care of?

Look your thinking on this one is flawed.. im not asking for any thing inappropriate.. im asking to have the problem fixed.. what wrong with that?

DumbDumb, I think a huge part of the issue in getting your system fixed is that you somehow managed to get dell to send you 7970's for your R1.

They were never and aren't a standard option for your laptop (yes I know many have bought and installed the cards) and they probably should never have been sent out to you in the first place in lieu of your original cards or the best possible cards for the r1 i.e. the 6990 / 580. Whilst we know they work fine on the R1 - look at it from dell's perspective - you are using cards that were never validated for use in your model. The R1 was never sold with 7970's and they should never have been sent to you as warranty replacements for an R1.

I'm interested to know if that discoloured heatsink you have came like that or changed colour after you used it? Clearly it's had some extreme heat go through it to discolour like that. If it had a pinhole the liquid inside may have evaporated and it is now no longer cooling to its maximum potential.

In any case I don't know why you haven't contacted the BBB yet. Dell have offered to fix the machine if you RTB, Your options look to be either send it in and get it fixed or use the muscle of the BBB to get it fixed to your satisfaction.

Thread closed at DumbDumb's request. Alienware is actively working on his warranty issue and merely waiting for parts to become available.
