I'm just glad you had the knowledge to figure it out. I detest selling on ebay. I have had more returns for "broken" brand new laptops than it seems is possible. I also dislike that ebay gives them a month to mess around with the laptop before returning it...

Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
For all we know, we don't even know what model the 15" screen was used. For the record, no one has even tried a smaller screen on the M18X R2, so basically there is no argument there.Last edited: May 9, 2019 -
With regards to the m15x vs m18x - they don't use the same connector type either and the LCD cables are different
I am going to name and shame the guy too, i have no doubt he is probably on here somehwhere...

I'm OK with naming the eBay account, but not personal name and email address.
We leave that kind of stuff to the tabloidselectrosoft, katalin_2003, toughasnails and 2 others like this. -

I remember booting my M18X R1 up with a 15" screen i pulled from an old toshiba when i was fixing its bricked display, so it is possible to boot with a different sized screen
But Good eye catching scammers tho! -

All my problem buyers are international. The normal problem countries are now just the tip of the iceberg.
PayPal is useless.
Don’t even get me started on all the attempts at partial refunds and veiled threats of negative feedback if you don’t agree....

Even buying on eBay is a real pain.
Turned on my ranger worked fine, started up siege and the ac adapter blew.
I sent notice of this, just wanted a replacement AC adapter or partial refund to cover getting the cheapest available 240w off ebay. Seller claimed I was holding feedback as collateral and had the dispute closed with no recourse.
This later caused damage to the motherboard I believe as I couldn't even really hold anything above 45w so 3.0ghz was the max I could hold due to vr limit. Motherboard died a month later.
Fun stuff. -

Ebays a safe haven for scammers. I sold a gtx 980m and took pictures while making the parcel, send card. 3 days after buyer receiving he put a claim in saying it was faulty ( 2 capacitors burnt out). I sent pictures to eBay to show the condition of the card while packaging for delivery but they still decided to refund him and I ended up with a card that was trash. Never sell on there again. Had over £10k of items which I immediately took down. Never will get my business again.

DaMafiaGamer Switching laptops forever!
Had a similar experience, sold two rx 390x when the mining craze was happening. Never mined on them and guess what both from two different sellers came back faulty. 100% from modified vbios for higher mining hashrate as it was the most powerful gpu for it at the time. Saying oh it arrived faulty and is showing artifacts. These rejects need to be put in their place. Cant believe that PayPal was in THEIR favour. I got so mad I literally snapped both cards in half heatsink and all and threw them into the bin, I checked them beforehand obviously. I was furious that both my cards were now toast due to some STUPID noobs who have NO IDEA on how to use a gpu for mining. I hate ebay but it's my business and income aswell as my main job. I just cant stop selling otherwise I cant pay for uni
