Hey folks, so I think I am going to pick up a 7970 on the cheap from ebay, (out of work, can't afford much else, even a GTX 680 or 780 are both going to cost a couple hundred more at least)

Looks like my heatsinks from the 6990 shuold work, just wondering if I would need a new bios or whatnot ?

Is there an updated unlocked bios ?

    Thanks as always

Nope, you don't need anything special. Heat sinks for 6990M will work, but you'd get better results from 7970M heat sinks. They are beefier and cool better.

No BIOS updates are available for the M18xR1. They unlocked BIOS you have is the best and it will work fine.

If they are still available, you can buy these directly from Dell for less than anywhere else. Here are the part numbers.
