I will mod the desktop version to enable sli on the fly on 780M, but I dont know how to include the nvidia CUDA encoder support made by J95 in this driver. Can anyone help? Just one more day to play GTA V =D
-
Any chance someone can make the mod of this drivers (Desktop) for 680M?
-
7 hours to go
-
Supported GPUs:
[Strings]
DiskID1 = "NVIDIA Windows (64 bit) Driver Library Installation Disk 1"
NVIDIA = "NVIDIA"
NVIDIA_A = "NVIDIA"
NVIDIA_DEV.11A0 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M"
NVIDIA_DEV.119F = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M"
NVIDIA_DEV.1198 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M"
NVIDIA_DEV.13D8 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M"
NVIDIA_DEV.13D7 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M"
But I cannot find the CUDA mod tutorial. -
-
What I meant is that the Fox's mod already includes the 680M drivers in it all the way to 980M. I will try it when I back home later.

2) why not just install the available mobile version and be done with it?
by the way, nice system but why are you not running your SSDs in RDx3 instead of RDx2?
Wanna see a benchmark comparison of RDx2 and RDx3 with the 840 EVO mSATA being in the mix:
check my question here and reply if you can:

There's problem with this driver for me (m18x r2 + 780m sli), i cannot install it at all, always give me "installation failed", then the 2 display adapters become "other display" with exclamation and move to "Other" section of Device Manager, the same with 350.05, only 347.88 works
/note that i've tried worked modded .inf as well as modding the new .inf , and my OS is win 8.1 -

yes, i have tried that, boot to safe mode and use DDU to wipe all display driver thingy
then reboot in to normal mode, i can still see 2 Microsoft Basic adapter or sth like that, but right after i hit install, the installation failed, then 2 Microsoft Basic adapter disappear and become "Other display", when i get this, i cannot do any installation anymore, reboot and 2 Microsoft adapter appear and i can only install 347.88
i have disable "Driver signing signature..." too, so that i can install 347.88 and lower, but not 350.05 and above
is there anything i miss?
/pls bear with my horrible eng -

Well I did get an improvement in fire strike. http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/4581525/fs/4547541 there's a side by side with a 344.75 driver. Funny thing is that it says that both my gpu and cpu are running on higher clocks.
-
This driver functions normally for me running stock with 780M SLI... http://www.3dmark.com/fs/4581806
For some strange reason, with a modest overclock (1045/1500/1.056V) it has a SEVERE throttling problem (drops to 405Mhz on core and 400MHz on memory) and my Fire Strike score is lower than stock clocks. So, basically, it's a totally worthless driver for me if it only works right at stock clocks and voltage. See example.
Going back to my desktop 345.20 mod and everything is back to awesome again... http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/6624963 (1045/1500/1.056V, single 330W AC adapter)
As soon as I have an opportunity, I will test this new driver with 980M SLI on my Clevo and see if it has the same throttling problem.
Sorry I have not been around much. I have a lot going on, but things should normalize soon and I'll be back in full swing.
Too weird that it sucks with overclocked 780M SLI.

Getting about average 75-90 fps in GTA V on ultra settings (FXAA). 5742MB of video RAM is used.

Also tried @j95's mod for this driver and same severe throttling problem with overclocked/overvolted 780M SLI in the M18xR2. Another garbage driver... thanks NVIDIA! Going back to my own 345.20 desktop driver mod... again.
-
Sorry my cards are UNderclocked so I don't know
It does not throttle for me.
Clocks 824-850 MHz Core, memory stock. vBIOS is modified.Mr. Fox likes this. -
Yes, I understand. Works fine for me stock also. No throttling at all. But, I overclock and bench, so this driver sucks for me.
My 345.20 desktop driver mod (1045/1500/1.056V)
This 350.12 driver... (using same overclock settings)
Seems NVIDIA is continuing to follow a path leading to failure with their clock-blocking bull... I'm complaining about it here:

Do GTA V on your PC's sums vRAM of both cards in SLI too?
-
@GodlikeRU - I don't own GTA V, but that's got to be some kind of error in the game because multi-GPU memory is mirrored, not stacked. A few other games have had this glitch in the past where the calculated the sum of memory both GPUs is displayed in error. If you run OSD with memory utilization output you can see how much actual vRAM and allocated system memory are being used during gameplay. It may be using about 5.7GB, perhaps even more, but there is not 16GB of usable vRAM available as it shows in the screen shot.

I know but im surprised that there's that kind of "newbie" error in GTA V...

No throttling at all with this driver plus SLI GTX 680M. I need more VRAM to crack up all settings but the game has an outstanding optimization.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

Not sure why I even bothered trying these drivers

I was actually able to mod the inf file by myself-shout out to J95. I haven't really OC anything just getting used to game and having at it. I'm getting a steady 59.9-60 FPS, everything as high as possible. Temps all around 70c, room was hot and heat was on.
-
I've noticed that my voltage has been raised on latest driver for gtx680m sli. The 347.88 had lower voltage. Is this a bug or suppose to be like this please?
first photo shows the voltage at 1012
second photo shows my custom oc profile with lower voltage from 347.88 driver integrated into 350.12 profile.

Mr. Fox, you're always good for a laugh, bossman.
GTA IV stacked the VRAM too, and I had to edit a file somewhere to allow myself to exceed my max VRAM. I was previously running a pretty old driver, so I had no SLI in GTA V for some reason. This driver enabled SLI in the game, which gave me a pretty healthy FPS gain.
On another note, if you exceeded your max VRAM in GTA IV, there were graphical glitches, such as textures not rendering, etc. In V, it doesn't seem to matter.
Has anyone messed around with the graphics settings enough to know which of them is the biggest FPS killer? Seems like there's always a couple that do that, while the others are negligible.
I played and tinkered with GTA IV extensively, and I have to say that Rockstar did a much better job with the PC release this time around. It was at the cost of several months worth of delays, but I think it was worth it to have a working product that I can hit 'play' and enjoy without a whole lot of tinkering and modding.Last edited: Apr 14, 2015katalin_2003 and Mr. Fox like this. -

It's working well in overclocking the titan x still, 200 on the core and 700 on the memory but I have never had an issue with it

Yes I look forward to testing it out on my GS30 running the titan-x
I'll see if I have issues with my 980M SLI setup too.
