Is there a shortcut (key combo) etc that I could assign a macro key to?
Love the lights, but really most of the time I want them off.
Also, can you assign a macro key to different themes? That would be cool.

Just right click on the alienhead in the task bar and click go dark.....jobs a good 'un....cant get much quicker than that but you might be able to use one of the macro keys to point to it......

Fn+F11 is the standard keyboard shortcut (if you look carefully you'll see alienFX written on the F11 key). I'm not sure if you can map that to a macro key, but I don't really see the point of it either
. In any case, it's relatively simple

Eek.
I just thought that brought up the AlienFX software...but it does indeed switch between light and dark. Thanks! -
You're welcome
Sorry if I seemed slightly condescending, I'm Romanian and I couldn't think of a better way to put it. I just meant that it's an easier way to remember the combo. -
No problemo.

Why would you ever want to go dark?

Well, if you use your beast for work, sometimes it may be beneficial to do a presentation, for example, without all the disco lights going....not a real good "professional" image in a boardroom full of suits lol

Yup all those things. Pretty pleased now. No more crashing since the reinstall.
Other than my minor screen defect at angles I'm happy. -

thanks for the shortcut
Is there a way to disable the lights of the touchpad too? (without disabling in the same time the touchpad) -
Right click the AlienFX icon in the taskbar, uncheck "Keep status zones on during go dark"
Then when you use Fn-F11 to toggle AlienFX it should kill all of the lights. -
Go Dark.
