6028643C-554F-495C-8101-16262C356B36.jpeg Click bait for sure BUT a serious question: I have had my Alienware M18x R2 for 8 years or so. Honestly no laptop has ever lasted this long in my life or really ANY technology for that matter .... So I finally changed out that pesky Killer N wifi cars which has been total crap for the entirety of ownership of my laptop, finally broke down and bought the intel 6300n BUT when I went in to replace it today... I saw a sad hole that needs something..... I have no idea what.

Can someone tell me what goes in here?

That's for the wireless display card. There is also an antenna that connects to the card and goes into the display assembly. I ordered the card and antenna but then realised it was for the M17x R3/M18x R1 and not for the R2. I haven't actually tried it in the R2 but I'm assuming it won't work. I believe you also need an Intel wifi card and not the Killer card so it's good you just swapped yours. Then you also need a receiver to plug into the TV.

I actually kind of remembered that, but I wasn’t exactly sure on the specifics. I knew it was something that had to do with the Video and transmitting it somehow to another screen, but that was about it and wasn’t even sure if it was a worthwhile purchase and if the technology even made sense to use 8 years later. I’ll click that link and see what I learn but thank you so much!!

There is an M18x R2 card and antenna and I think the Dell Part#'s should be in that thread. Yeah it's dead technology now so it's only worth installing if you want to fill a hole. That is the only reason why I tried to get it working. I still may give the one I have a try one day, just to see if it works. My wife has an M17x R3 so maybe I'll put it in that since it was designed for that model.
