    Hi all,

I am having problem lately with my Aw 18 shutting down automatically (this never happens before I updated the bios to A10, I cant really remember what I was using before), I would really like to identify the problem and solve this once and for all.

    When does it happen:
    1. During the quick test in DELL diagnostics.

    2. During video encoding/editing while the fan is running high (this never happens before)

What I think caused the problem:

    1. Bios update (I do not remember which bios version I was using before but it certainly works perfectly when I tries to encode some videos.)
I have tested some shorter videos and the fan was running for awhile, it would not cause my aw18 to shut down but if the duration is long it shuts down.)

    2. A hotfix that came after the update saying it fixes the fan.

    3. Bi-product of the bios? (power throttling? fan control? )

I do clean my fans from accumulating dusts very often.

    Please help!

Just did a diagnostic test through the boot menu, all fans are working, However when i Turn on my computer I realize none of the video fans are spinning, not even in a game. Are they suppose to spin at all times?

Check your temps. might be time for a repaste.

Also try to redownload your bios...downgrade your bios to a previous version and upgrade to the latest one again.

Check you haven't accidentally turned off the external GPU's and turned on the internal GPU. Go to device manager and check the display adapters. If it says 'Intel etc' and there is one device, press and hold 'FN' and then 'F5'. It will prompt you to reboot. Once done, you should now see 2 devices in the display adapters that are either nvidia or AMD depending on your PC hardware.

I did this accidentally and first thing I noticed is the GPU fans didn't turn on. Then I noticed the poor performance in games.
