So I just ran Passmark. Then followed the guide for HWinfo64 set up, and tried to set my fans. Again the issue is that max rpm that I can set drops. Thought I would try it anyway..... I set CPU max 3700rpm starting at 50c, GPU1 max 3500rpm starting at 50c, and GPU2 max 3300rpm at 50C, and tried to run passmark again, but ened with thermal shut down, and the same for 3DMark11. So, the GPUs go back to auto system control for fans. I gotta be missing something. lol.

I forgot, when I ran passmark I had forgotten to set CPU fan to manual and max.

PassMark test is a disaster :D This you must run again .. :hi2:
Dell's fan profile on Alienware 18 I think is 3700rpm on cpu, gpu master 3500rpm and slave 3400rpm.
As long as you are going to run benchmark (even during gaming) tests, set all the fans manually at maximum speed. Under normal use, you can only use Dell's own fan control. You should put the windows power management profile to perfomance. Learn to use Hwinfo64 and RTSS correct, and use the software at all times. For tips on how to use it, look everywhere in this forum (also see images from others how they set up all)
Make you a profile of your hardware .. :p

I will be running it again tomrrow. For the life of me I am stumped on this fan control. I'm reading what ever I can find but still having the same issue.
The moment I set to custom the max rpm for my fans drop, and I cant set eith GPU fan with out first setting up the CPU fan which drops all the rpm's. This is frustraing. lol

OK, so a couple more runs, to post, and screen shot of GPU1 temps while running.

No matter what I do with Hwinfo64, I can't seem to get the fans to keep the system cool when I set custom for both the GPU's and CPU. The lower max rpm's isnt enough to keep the system from thermal shut down, and pushing just the CPU fan to the max as I did in these GPU 1 gets pretty damn hot. It's been half an hour since I ran that, and just typing here GPU1 is at 54c. It is currently 65F room temp. I dont know. lol. It seems odd to me that this card would be so hot even at idle.

I called Alienware today, and just got off the phone with the rep. Is what Iv just done stupid, maybe. However I dont want them to come back later and say I was trying to keep anything Im not supposed to. I informed him that I recived the return shipping lable this Wensday, as it was not shipped with the new system, and the email the last rep was going to send containing shipping info, was never recived. I also informed them that I had to swap some parts from the old system to the new one. The wlan card, as the new one craped out, GPU1 and fan, as it was over heating. 30 minutes of BF4 and card started spiking up to 92c, after being repasted with liquid ultra. First tryed a fan swap, that didnt work, then swaped the card, that worked. Temps are much lower now. Also explaned that the old system was being returned missing a few screws to replace the ones the new system was shipped with out. Oh, and the CMOS battery craped out on the new system, so swaped the one from the old system to this one as well. lol. He said he would escalate the case to his suppervisor, though to be honest I have no idea what that even means at this point. On the plus side the guy was very nice, and very polite. Oh, and I did recive a backpack, it came in Wensday as well. I also offered to send them the screen shots, pics from cell phone, and the two short videos from cell phone of the issues, and error messages. So, guess Ill see what happens. Oh, after card swap, with factory thermal, idle temp for desktop and GPUZ is 43C. Ambient room temp is 65F.
Didnt think much about the backpack, but it really is knid of nifty.
